A while back, I asked the forum this question . Well, I decided to go with Poker Office. And I have to say, I'm sorry I did. At the time, it seemed to be a great choice b/c it had a HUD built into it, seemed pretty user friendly, and it supported the only site I was playing at the time - Party. Now I play regularly on Absolute, and Poker Office still does not support it. When users ask for it, the response is always along the lines of - we're working on it but cannot say when it will be complete. Well I'm tired of waiting. Poker Office is bragged upon by software gurus as being the more sophisticated of the two programs, but what does that matter to me, the end user that just wants it to work on the sites I play on? I can tell you what its worth - nothing. I will gladly give up this sophistication that I know nothing about b/c PO still doesn't even have a user manual that has been a work in progress since PO2 was released last year. Yes, I will happily trade this in for a supposed less sophisticated program that works on more sites and has many, many more add-on programs that are compatible with it and not to mention is used by virtually everyone that plays serious online poker.
I apologize if this sounds like a gripe post - but it is. I feel that potential users need to know that if they play on more than a handful of sites, then PO is NOT the program for you. That being said, that is the only gripe I have about the program. Other than that, it does exactly what it promises. Its just that I'm not going to wait around forever in hopes that the sites I play on will eventually be added. Anyone with tips for converting a PO database to PT would be greatly appreciated. |

I don't think you can convert your PO database to PT; you need to re-import the hand histories.

I use PT, not PO, but I know PT has the ability to export hands from your PT db into hand history files. Perhaps PO has something similar so you can export all your hands from PO and then import into PT. Otherwise, unless you keep all your old HH file (I know I don't) you pretty much screwed.

I have PokerOffice and PokerTracker with PAHUD installed on my machine. When playing on Party or Stars, it is always PO. Clearly, it is the better of the two applications for realtime hand tracking. In those few instances that I am on a non-compatible site, I use PT. Looks like you bought both already. It wouldn't hurt to use both alternately.

There is a reason that PT holds a huge market share and PAHUD is doing quite well for themselves. The sheer volumes of what players choose to use and spend money on speak for themselves. -eric |

I am refering to a specific function of PO, and am not generalizing the merits of the two solutions. But maybe I referred to the wrong function when I stated 'realtime hand tracking'. I should have stated is the better of the two solutions when it comes to 'realtime HUD'. I have both PokerOffice and PokerTracker w/ PAHUD installed on my machine. When playing at PokerOffice compatible sites, I prefer using PokerOffice over PokerTracker w/PAHUD. Also, when playing at such sites, I will run PokerTracker without PAHUD to import the hands in realtime. As PokerTracker is the better of the two applications for tracking play overall, but for realtime hand tracking (HUD), PokerOffice beats the pants off of PAHUD. IMHO from a person that owns and uses both apps. |

I own PT and know nothing about PO but have heard rumors that PO can be used to datamine Stars.
This isn't true right? |

I have a program called HoldemAssistant.
It seems like the live-part works like PokerOffice, but the only stats it has is: 1: % seing flop, 2: a number called preflop aggression factor (0-100) and 3: a number for postflop aggression factor (0-100). I know it's very bad statistic-wise, but i like the way it just works - still i know i need a better tracking program for when moving up in limits. Reading about all the problems people have with pokertracker (configurating etc.) it seems like Pokeroffice 2 is the way for me. I don't know anything (very little) about computers and my PC is ordenary Would it be a good idea buying PokerOffice 2 (it would definately be an improvement from were i am now). Couldn't i just use PokerOffice 2 for live games, and then maybe buy PokerTracker later (without PAHUD) and import all my hands, and only use PT for analysis (when not playing), thus not slowing down my playing-flow ?? I multitable (3-4) 50-100 NL (6. max) on party and play MTT's. |
