Default bottom set OOP on monotone board

no reads on button, he was new to table. BB was typical poor to average player

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

BB ($25.40)
UTG ($81.10)
MP ($48.35)
Button ($48)
Hero ($88.30)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.50, MP calls $0.50, Button calls $0.50, Hero (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($2.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
Hero bets $3, BB calls $3, UTG folds, MP folds, Button pushes all in for $47.50,
Hero???

I put buttons range on 89, 88, 99, or made baby flush. over pair + flush draw are very unlkely given preflop action.
easy fold? easy call?

how about the flop? should i have bet more wiht this board?

Agreed. You're most likely trying to be scared out of the pot, and if not, you can still fill up to a full house.

hmm lots of people like a call. why would lone Ah push? a call is far better for him with position. and nobody thinks that either button or BB have a made flush or even a higher set? because i would push there or put in a hefty reraise with any of those. i figured the only hand i would be ahead of is of 89, and the BB is still yet to act. is that too weak/tight?
plus ive been trying to patch up a leak i have with putting my stack on the line in unrasied pots with very vulernable hands...

still like a call?

cs3,

I like your bet on the flop. I don't call here because its possible you're drawing to your boat and you don't have any fold equity. You're the one left guessing.

This kind of thinking is illogical. I push whenever I think I can get a call from a worse hand. I push virtually every time on this board with a set.
