PLO Live adjustments?
Some of you seem to have some experience live, what adjustments are you making to live v. online play? My only live experience comes from my homegame where we played omaha 3 or 4 times, so it doesnt count.

Some of you seem to have some experience live, what adjustments are you making to live v. online play? [/ QUOTE ] Holding 4 cards in your hand carefully at a full table. You have to be careful your neighbor doesn't peek at them. Also, it's a tell to rearrange your cards using the same system each time, i.e. always reordering pairs, suits, or connectors. Just play your cards where they lie. And remember if you want to play with a 4 color deck to help pick out flushes, you have to bring your own, most casinos dont stock. |

Who reorders cards? [/ QUOTE ] I do, but I have it according to pairs and suits. I read high to low and when paired I put it goes spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs. This does not give any tells since all hands have higher cards and lower cards anyways. They can't tell if you have AAKK ds or 2222 by doing this. |

Re: PLO Live adjustments?
I have no idea where you'll be playing and what stakes, so I only tell about my personal experience.
Live games seem to attract all types of players and i found it very important to QUICKLY evaluate who is who at the table. Last time I played, there were 1 solid aggressive player, 1 maniacal aggro, a couple of loose passive timid players, and 1 "holdem" policeman. Since the hands get dealt quite slowly, I found it important to make very fast evaluations right from the start and maybe have an overall picture of the opponents only after 10 hands or so. It makes no sense to bluff the holdem player who goes to the showdown with KK unimproved, while you can play quite aggro, like in the net, against the typical timid players, while on the other hand prepare for high variance battles against the maniac. 40% vpip and 10% pfr seemed to work fine, as long as I tried to adjust the post-flop play precisely against the opponent(s) in a hand. The only real point I make I guess that live games might attract a very wide variety of players and you need to adjust quickly |

Re: PLO Live adjustments?
there's another thread about a live game in the midwest, and that one shares the common attributes of all the live casino plo games I've heard of. namely, they play big and fast. no cap on the buy-in. 1,000xbb stacks not uncommon. other thread mentions 5-10 games with $10,000 stacks. other places I've seen only spread 25-50 or rarely 10-25. lots of reraising pot pf. rarely if ever limped around pf. often lots of "bad" players pushing bad hands, but really they aren't b/c it's become more a game of nerve than cards. be sure to have a lot of money and a lot of nerve to survive. if this doesn't apply to your game, sorry. the ruben/ciaffone book on PL/NL has omaha sections that talk about live games in London that play big and fast like this.
