Party Poker PLO25
8 players, everyone in hand had plenty of money - near full buyin. Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is Button with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls Question 1: Considering that I am now over my LAG disease and back playing PAG, do I: A. Call B. Raise (C. What percent of time does a LAG raise here?) Hero calls, SB folds, BB checks. Flop: 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($1.35, 5 players) BB checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, CO checks, ? Question 2: A. Check here because with 5 players playing someone must have hit a set or straight and was getting ready to check raise. B. Bet 1/2 pot to get some information. C. Be a man, play some poker, and bet pot. Hero checks. Turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($1.35, 5 players) BB bets $0.5, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls Question 3. (I'm already guessing you ppl aren't going to like this call.) A. Call because if the board pairs, a lower set will pay often pay you off. B. Raise 1/2 pot and see what happens. C. Be a man and raise it up Hero calls. River: Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($3.85, 5 players) BB checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, CO folds Question 4 A. I'm assuming that no one reading this would ever check it down here, unless you are already disgusted by the play and just want to move on to next hand. B. 1/2 pot bet because it is more likely to get called? C. Pot it and make it look like a steal. (Hero bets pot - $3.7) Result in white: <font color="white"> </font> BB called with [ Td As 8d Ad ] MP1 called!? with [ Js Th 5d 9d ] <font color="white"> </font> |

Check flop, raise turn. Not sure I understand your river options -- e.g., 1/2 pot because you're more likely to be called? By baby flush?
[ QUOTE ] MP1 called!? with [ Js Th 5d 9d ] [/ QUOTE ] 6-card straight. |

My bad, 7-card straight. And a pip from the full 9-card run.

Check flop. Raise turn. Check behind on the river (maybe value bet).
You don't have to play every hand like your hair is on fire. |

Raising this preflop 8-handed seems kind of silly.

[ QUOTE ] Raising this preflop 8-handed seems kind of silly. [/ QUOTE ] Why's that. [/ QUOTE ] Obviously, it depends on the table, but... In a typical loose-passive game you aren't going to be able to narrow the field enough to make it such that your hand will stand up unimproved. Additionally, you are just as likely to mark yourself with a big pair as anything else, which is bad, because that is exactly what you have and not really anything else to go with it. Sure, there are some dream flops, but there are dream flops for every hand. With crappy big pairs, most of your profit is going to come from spiking your set or stealing when everyone shows weakness. Once you raise and mark yourself with big cards, you have eliminated the steal move, since now people will be more likely to check/raise rather than bet their hands. |

I raise preflop in this spot 100% of the time. Definately check this flop. There's too many draws out there, none of which help you. Raise it up on the turn though. I would probablly just check the river here. A low flush will call you here more than a lower set or 2 pair would.
