Q3s in BB...Wierd Hand

Live 15-30 Hollywood Park..i have Qs3s in BB..4 limpers limp ..Villian in LP raises(hes an absolute maniac fish) . Button calls(way to loose preflop but plays kinda ok post flop), SB calls as do i, all limpers call. The table is generally loose and fishy.
Flop is J 10 9 with 1 spade. SB checks, i bet, 2 MP limpers call, maniac villian raises just like i knew he would, button cold calls as do i and limpers.
Turn a beautiful Ks.
I bet, all fold to maniac who calls, button calls.
River is Js pairing the board.
I bet, maniac raises, button 3 bets [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] i muck.

You don't have a hand that wants to build the pot. You have a one-card straight draw on an action flop. You should check and probably fold if it comes back two to you.

with 8 bbs in??? the pot is already huge and is no doubt gonna get lots bigger

Yeah...there is 8BBs in the pot but given the action on the flop you just can't win it all by yourself. Most likely you will split it with someone even if you get there. I am pretty sure this is not the best time to "build the pot".

Turn is fine...river is a purely read related. You have to give button a floped set or top two, right? But he knows that the other dude is a lunatic and may be just playing off him.

those were my thoughts exactly....seemed like an easy laydown on the river, but in retrospect im not no sure???

Since the button plays decent postflop I would have to give him some % chance that he is raising with the thought that he knows he has the maniac beat and for a chance to win the pot he takes a shot at having you fold a better hand.

Obviously button has a hand he thinks is too good to lay down and I can't see him calling here with you behind him if he is a decnet player.

I have mucho to learn about this game and my reasoning could be way off. I probably call too much on the river. But after your bet on the turn it was 14 BB's to maniac and 15bb's to button.( if i counted right) I mean AJ, medium suited connected spades,, KQs,AQo,(said button loose preflop) with the pot odds on the turn I believe there are a lot of hands you can beat that somebody might go to river with and try and fold your hand or even think their hand is best.


I don't think I fold in this huge pot even for 2 bets, but like I said, I probably call too much on the river. If my reasoning is way off here please help me tweak it.
