Hand Selection in Recent Online Session
Hi all
I've just been getting back into cards in the last 2 months and things have not all been well. Sometimes i play well, sometimes bad, and one big tilt. Anywho, played 2 hours today on 2 tables adn did well for the session + 20BBs. I'm not sure how many hands i was dealt in the 2 hours, but I played 65 total, and about 65% of those were in the blinds and button. So, my big question is "Is my hand selection reasonable in the small blind and in early position for a mostly tight - passive table?" I felt VERY comfortable at this table and most of my opponents were making big mistakes post flop - way too much cold calling and drawing thin to dead. Small Blind hands - in a 1/2 structure Q5o, A6o, 68o, J6s, 95s, 79s, ATo, T7s, Q8s, K8o, 63s, Aks, A5o Mostly shorthanded pots, only A5 was called for a raise - against a button open raise. Did not raise AKs b/c 6 opponents limped and I sometimes just flat call in this situation. Early position hands 33, QJo, J9s, AQo, Ajs, KJs, QTs, KJo I think i'm too loose here, even against the passive line up. Probably only AQo, AJs, KJs, QTS and maybe J9s are solid. So, am i way off here in either position? Looking back it definately seems a little loose, but i felt that i played my hands better than most at my tables. Mark |

Small Blind hands - in a 1/2 structure
Q5o-muck, A6o-bleh, 68o-bleh, J6s-good, 95s-good, 79s-great, ATo-good,but you have to be careful, T7s-good, Q8s-good, K8o-bleh, 63s-bleh, Aks-LOL raise you have the best drawing hand know to man, A5o-fold to raise. Early position hands 33-muck, QJo-muck, J9s-muck, AQo-raise, Ajs-raise, KJs-raise, QTs-muck/raise, KJo-TURBO MUCK Way too loose IMO but you got there. Good job! |

Re: Hand Selection in Recent Online Session
What limit are you playing at?
AKs is an instant-raise 6 handed. at a tight/aggressive table fold all those early position hands except raise with AQ and AJs. It doesn't sound like you should be playing in a medium-stakes game, sorry. |
