1/2 NL hand. My friend hates my push??
I would like to hear peoples thoughts on this hand I played. I pushed the turn on the basis that I thought it was a great semibluffing situation and that he would find it very hard to call even if he had high pocket pair, and if he did I thought I knew I would still have many outs to win the hand, but I was expecting a fold (oops!). Thoughts on all streets are welcome.

Re: 1/2 NL hand. My friend hates my push??
If you want to bluff him with your draw, you should do so on the flop. As it is that turn card sucks for this because it does not complete any draws and there aren't that many sets now. Also, if the turn doesn't complete your draw your equity goes way down, as it did here (even though you picked up the fd too).

Re: 1/2 NL hand. My friend hates my push??
You need a good read on a player to do this. Vs. an unknown you almost never get an overpair to fold and there are plenty of players that will go the felt with worse than that (this being one of them). He has just shown so much strength leading out into 4 people and then betting the turn again strong that I doubt he's prepared to make any big laydowns.
Flop call is OK imo, I disagree with the previous poster and think bluffing flop < bluffing turn - there is some equity associated with letting other people into the pot + most people flatcall sets on boards like this, so a raise wouldn't be all that believable. Turn I would probably call as well. |

Call the turn. The turn 3 is a bad card for you. Most overpairs would call quickly if you raise them all-in on that turn.
