Re: 2/4 Marginal pair
i would raise pf. i would play the flop the same. i would usually fold the turn, but not always given that it could be a semibluff given the draws that now come around. i just don't think a 1.46 messes around TOO much. the river is el standardo.

Re: 2/4 Marginal pair
raise pf, flop is fine, fold the turn, although i don't think the crying call, fold the river UI line is awful

i don't think the crying call, fold the river UI line is awful [/ QUOTE ] In my opinion, this would probably be the most awful line. We have only two outs against an A (a K is NOT an out here), and our opponent is probably not checking the river often enough to merit hoping for that in what is a small pot. If we're calling the turn, we should do so with the intent of seeing a showdown. |

Re: 2/4 Marginal pair
I would rarely even consider folding this turn. Villain's PFR is 7 and a limp tells me he doesn't have an ace or he would have raised preflop(AT, AJ possibilities). Even without analysis of villain's stats, I would call this. 2/4 is full of turn donk betters like this who try to pick up the pot when a scare card falls. My guess is villain is holding a low pocket pair.

[/ QUOTE ] I actually think this means aces are in his limping range, with the big aces in his raising range. Anyway, I usually raise this preflop, but I don't like this opponent too much, so a fold might be in order. I don't think a call is terrible, but I would rather play this hand and do so with a raise. |
