Can anyone tell me the difference between $100-300 venetian blinds and the $5 variety at home depot and the like?
Durability? Looks? Oh and to make sure this is still OOT worthy - which would be easier to clean cumstains out of? (In the event my wife pisses me off during sex and I decide to come on the window coverings and leave for a bit). |

I've never owned really expensive blinds, so I don't know the differences, exactly, but I can tell you that the faux wood blinds at Home Depot are very nice.
I have normal size windows (no floor to ceiling or anything like that) - cost about $25 each. Look good, only take a few minutes each to install. I have white ones, so I can't speak to the looks of natural wood colors, but you would never know by looking at them that they are not wood. |

The ones from Home Depot, Lowes, or Menards are good. Plus, they're easy to install. Took me about 20 minutes the first set I did, and the about 10 minutes for each one after that.
Only odd thing was the draw "string" to open the blinds up was actually six or so strings -- not just one string. It works just fine, though. |
