dell 9300 screen problem- not the one posted 1000x

I have had my 9300 for 2 months now, no problems. Just yesterday though it started acting up on me. 80% of the time I open it up to use it, the monitor will keep turning itself off, then back on, then off, then back on in 1-2 second intervals. If I shut it then reopen it, it rarely fixes the problem. Usually I just pretend it isn't happening and after I have been using the mouse/keyboard for a minute or so it is like the computer realizes I am there using it and keeps the display on.

Anyone else ever have this problem? Any fix other then sending it to dell?
