Default Is the river a dream or a nightmare?

MP is a very good 2+2er (adsanman) and is ~25/12. He's aggressive and certainly capable of making some moves but when allot of money goes in he usually has the best hand. His read on me is probably that i pay him off way too much. I don't have much of a read on SB but he seems donkish...

Any thoughts on the river? Should i be raising this turn?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) converter

SB ($139.75)
Hero ($456.45)
UTG ($464.45)
MP ($842.30)
CO ($160)
Button ($392)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $4.
UTG calls $4, MP calls $4, CO (poster) checks, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($20) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB bets $12, Hero calls $12, UTG folds, MP calls $12, CO calls $12.

Turn: ($68) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets $20, Hero calls $20, MP calls $20, CO folds.

River: ($128) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets $103.75 (All-In), Hero calls $103.75, MP raises to $806.3, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $1141.80

Seems like a split pot in the bestcase scenario doesnt it? either 1/2 of it or 0/1 of it

Yes, the problem is i'm getting over 2-1 on the call which means even if i'm calling for 1/2 the pot i'm getting better than 1-1....Which means i need to chop this pot slightly less than half the time to make this call breakeven.

Yeah I fold the river, but I'm pretty upset about it. I think raising the turn is tough with the players behind you like that. I play the hand the same way...+fold to overpush.

Calling SB is fine OTR but the overpush is almost certaintly a sign to fold. Tough break that MP probably made backdoor [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]'s.

That turn bet from SB reeks. Easy raise the turn bet big (to $100) and take the free showdown, unless you improve to a straight. Good things happen if you raise:

(1) You get re-raised, you can fold your hand easily.
(2) You blow away the diamond (or club) draw behind.
(3) You blow away another 9 that would be chopping your straight equity.
(4) You rate to blow away a better Q, or even possibly two pair with this board.
(5) You're attempting to get position eliminating the players behind you, and get the free showdown, maybe winning the hand right there.

You wouldn't mind so much letting players behind you if the turn Q didn't appear because a J can make you a lot of money if someone else has the 9, but the Q changes that as you draw to a chop with and I don't like sharing equity .

The one downside is you can be blown off your open-ended straight draw. However, you have top pair and an excellent chance of having the best hand right now anyways.

As played, easy fold on the river to the push.
