Who\'s at the top of their game?
There's something I've been thinking about.
Throughout time, there have been certain people who've been without a doubt the top performers in their field: for example, The Beatles in 60s rock music. However, I'm trying to figure out who, exactly, is at the top of their game in certain fields right now. Who is the best popular music group? Who is the preeminent writer? Who's the best actor? Looking back, I think that we can determine that at certain times, certain people have been at the top of their fields. However, who is the best right now? For argument's sake, let's try to stick to music, acting and writing, although if you want to add academic fields (like who's the best astro-physicist in the world) feel free to comment.

Based on your example of the Beatles as a benchmark for top of their game, I can only assume that you're using popularity to rate these fields.
With that in mind the writer can only be Dan Brown.

As far as acting goes Cruise pretty much has it, and by the way, is there a worse actor than Keanu Reeves?
