Default context hand, QQ on A high flop 100 6max NL

This is my first or second orbit at the table. This is the first hand that sets the context. The hand before this one I had alos raised PF.

Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.50.
1 fold, MP raises to $4, Hero raises to $16, 2 folds, MP calls $12.

Flop: ($33.50) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets $20, MP folds.

Very next hand is this:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) converter

UTG ($112.44)
Hero ($114.35)
CO ($50)
Button ($102.20)
SB ($22.94)
BB ($359.56)

Preflop: Hero is MP with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $1. SB posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG raises to $4, Hero raises to $16, 4 folds, UTG calls $12.

Flop: ($34.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($34.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks.

River: ($34.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $20, UTG calls $96.44 (All-In), Hero calls $76.44.

I'd give him credit for a nice bet and fold.

I go... "wait a minute... why didn't I bet the flop? Or maybe the turn?"

I don't think I can call off so much money without a KILLER read.

How big was MP's stack in the first hand? That determines how much you need to bet to give him incorrect implied odds.

Bet the flop in the second hand, he'll fold many hands here. Your river call is awful. If huge river check-raise has slowplay written all over it. You hardly ever see a river check-raise bluff...how do they know you'll bet? They'd lead out.

my killer read is that he is sick of me playing back at him and thinks i must be weak this time since i had been checking it down

i mean what TP hand plays this way? (for me or him) also who checks 3 streets with a set or better?

pmuir10- people do weird things. A guy once flopped a set, checked through the flop, checked through the turn that gave him a full house, and then stacked me when I hit a straight on the river.

Although, you were at the table... the read part of this hand is completely up to you.

Edited because I am way dumber than originally thought.

You really should've bet the flop in hand 2. Given that he respected your flop bet in the first hand, it's more likely that you'll win the pot UC in hand 2. I really hate the river call because even if he had an underpair to queens, you gave him 5 cards to improve.

If your read is that he is psychologically beat down and willing to bluff check-raise on the river, than by all means call. Without that read, I'm folding.

U figure he can't have checked thrice if he paired his ace; no way he slow plays a set; kk may play this way but doubtful; he is pissed at being raised twice preflop and so pushes with air or a marginal hand, figuring you can't call????
