KK OOP on ace high flop question
This scenario has happenned twice at 10/20 to me in the past week. This is SH and in general I also usually only re-raise out of the blinds with AA-JJ, AK against an early position raise and slightly wider range (77+, AQs, etc...) against a LP raise with middle ungapped suited connectors sporadically.
Effective stacks not much more than 100 BB's. In both scenarios CO makes it 70, and I pot it out of the BB with KK. Flop comes Axx and I bet 2/3 pot (standard no matter what my hand), and fold to an all-in. Both times CO shows a middle PP, no set and steam shoots out my ears. Any thoughts on my play? Am I being too ROT or for Villain can this actually be part of a profitable strategy over the long run assuming only a couple 1000 hands with opponents? |

Re: KK OOP on ace high flop question
You are doing fine and yes it's probably only resultsoriented. Just ask yourself one more time: Do you really think you're playing bad when you decide to not stack off on an A-highboard when you have pocket pair and 3-bet preflop? I think not.
