If by less than 10% you mean more than 10% because that's the chances of flopping a set then I agree.

This is horrible. In fact that whole "5/10%"-rule is horrible and all to simplified. You're not taking into account getting paid of, getting outdrawn, our position, if it's shorthanded etc. Most important of all, you haven't given us how opponents view you, and how you view opponents, other han "break even" or good. I mean it's like expecting that building sweaters and phallucy would get paid of equally often when floping that set.

so you know he has AA and you're NEVER going to bluff when you miss your set and the board is horrible for AA? i don't see how you can't win the pot when the flop comes KKJ ect.

You are actually wrong, 5-10 does take all those things into account; outdraws and getting paid(although very simply for getting paid). If you know your opponent has aces and you call preflop you need ~7.5-1 odds to hit your set. It doesn't matter how good or how bad your opponent is he can't get away from aces if you only have under 40BB and he raises 4xBB. Also this is a very stupid thread and should be in ssnl.
