it's probably american, depending what you consider american. as long as you stick to fairly lean cuts of meat, it's got to be healthier than two cuisines where virtually everything is fried in oil.

American has healthier choices overall. Chinese is generally very bad except for a few items. Some mexican is healthy - just ensure you don't drown your items in cheese/sour cream, avoid ground beef, fried items, etc.

What is American food? I'm serious- is there a distinctive "American" food in your mind that is as defined as Mexican/Chinese/Whatever? I'm interested because I don't think of American food like that- I think of it as a place where established cuisines are fused, changed, revitalised..
