Default Reply from Congressman on internet gambling bill

I already posted this in legislation, but this is pretty important and I don't think everyone would click on a cross post. I hope the mods understand given how important this issue is.

I haven't heard anything about the internet gambling bill for a while. Does anyone have any updates?

Also, I got a reply back from my house representative yesterday. His letter said thanks for sharing my opinions and then went over the "party line" of internet gambling contributes to:

- money laundering
- cheating
- underage gambling
- unfair/unregulated games

and in the last sentence he said he was "inclined to vote for the legislation".

I'm not feeling too good about things here guys. If you haven't contacted your congressman/senators, DO IT NOW!!!!. Don't complain if this bill passes and you didn't even lift a finger to contact your politicians. CONTACT THEM NOW NOW NOW!

Maybe the mod could post the link above as a sticky?

I know it belongs in Legislation, but the zoo gets a ton more traffic.

Also, MisterKing gave some great advice if you would like to call instead of write your rep/senator. Calling is much more effective if you want to take the time to do it.

When you wrote your representative, did you sign the letter "DING-DONG YO"?

That's a stupid question.

How else am I supposed to sign it? I want to be taken seriously by my elected representatives, yo.

Just want to say that they do pay attention to letters like this. We do this type of thing to bring attention to legislation as it relates to the industry I work in and it is effective. The link and auto leter system is really easy to use so everyone should do this.

I wish they would give a few examples of how banning online gambling will do more to solve these problems than allowing them to operate in the US and regulating them.
