Default Interview with Chip Reese

This interview was done a few days ago for the NBC HeadsUp site.

Thought the interview came off pretty well.

Q: Predictions for yourself: when will you stop playing poker and, when you do stop, what will you do?

CR: I'll stop playing at my funeral. And only God knows what I'll do after that.

[/ QUOTE ]

I thought this was pretty funny.

Please forgive my paraphrasing and tongue in cheek comment ... here's the interview Q&A so everyone can make their own guess about what Chip meant, with the benefit of both the question asked and the response given.

Right now, no limit hold'em is the most "trendy" poker game. What do you think the next "trendy" game will be?

CR: Hold'em is definitely getting a little boring. So much of what the public sees are races - pocket pairs v. ace-king or ace-queen. Soon, the public is going to want more than that. I'm working on a project with a couple of my poker friends to make some subtle changes to the game of hold'em to make it more interesting. (Editor's note: Chip noted that we would see some of these ideas in print at a later date ? and ultimately on TV - but would not divulge any of the changes at this time.)

Good interview. Chip is the man. He has the perfect balance of modesty and confidence.
