Default TRAINWRECK - For TStone

Some may remember my tumultuous -750BB january, and the insane heater that followed in february. Well, I fell into a black hole starting march 1st - here's the graph (dollars, for all you BBV nits):

I have hardly played at all the past week and a half(300 hands / day?), every time I log on I lose 20 bets right off the bat. I play my best until I get frustrated - as soon as I get tilty I stop, hence the super-short sessions lately.

I analyze my game heavily, and I've done numerous HH reviews with fellow 6maxers, and I've got coaching - the feedback from my coaches has been very positive - and i'm getting more coaching.

I'm starting to question if there's a fundamental issue with my game, in that I may be trying to exploit postflop edges that are so small +EV that they are just +variance...I was talking with Our House a couple weeks ago and he commented that he had never seen variance like I see - I mean, whose months go -750BB, +950BB, -600BB? It's insanity.

I'm taking a bit of a break from SH to play full table, and some NL, to try and get my sanity back.

Thanks for any encouragement / comments. "LOLs" and "Howsoooon to u RBUSTO!?"s are fine too.

Here's what I do when I have a short session where I start off by losing: I PLAY TILL I'M ATLEAST EVEN. (Or down >$5000 in which case I insta-close PP and go get drunk)

First is 1.0 second is 1.5. It's rounding. POKERGRAPHER ALL THE WAY!

The first 5k hands were march 1st and march 2nd. I lost 175 BB at 15/30 on march 1st. I lost 220 BB at 10/20 on march 2nd. Both days my showdown #s were something like 28wtsd / 43 w$sd. I have reviewed hundreds of hands from those 2 days and in retrospect I think I was playing pretty well.

then why is there no doubling for all the numbers? it goes like 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 4 etc.

basically saying the y-axis graph shouldnt have slopes like that. its retarded!!!

Oops, not actually 1.0 and 1.5. It's something like 1.5 1.7 2.3
3.2 or some [censored] like that (figure out what spacing gives you this on your own)

I'm in a similar boat, although not as bad downswings. -300, +400, -350BB all in the last 25k hands at PTY. I agree about the plus variance and I am a looser player than you. I'm considering tightening up a bit and seeing how that goes. I'm also prescribing myself with a healthy dose of WSEX and hilariously soft live NL play and then maybe some NL 200 set mining or something.

GL, bro.

Hang in there Surf -- you will be fine in the long run, which should be here within a century or two.
