Default Harrah\'s to leave Lake Charles, La.

This is for any of you guys in Louisiana and Southeast, Tx. A story in the local paper says that Harrah's, whose Lake Charles casino was all but destroyed by Hurricane Rita, is giving up in Lake Charles and wants to sell its two riverboat licenses to Pinnacle Entertainment.

Pinnacle wants to use one of the licenses to double its L'auberge du Lac Casino in Lake Charles. Here is a quote from Pinnacle's president.

"Dan Lee, Pinnacle's president, has said he wanted to double the size of the Lake Charles riverboat casino because of booming business and the need for a poker room ."

What happened to the 20-40 game at the Isle? I have been calling there and it has not been going.

Last time I played there (recently) it was a 5/5 no limit game with red chips only. Did this change?

Yeah, Isle now spreads only 3/6/12 and 5/5 NL (300 max buy in)

I went up to Lake Charles on Saturday, and was very disappointed.

The Isle, where I've been saving comp points, somehow lost all my points. So, after I sweettalk the floorgirl into giving me $10 for the sandwich bar (couldn't even get buffet) I head to Harrahs. It's closed.

So I head to Lauberge, which didn't have a poker room when it opened, but maybe something changed. Nope. No poker room. So I drive back home, not wanting to go back to the Isle.

And, the Isle doesn't spread a midlimit limit game anymore. The oddly structured 300 buy-in 5/5 NL holdem has replaced the 10/20 and the 20/40.

Let's hope Lauberge -- which is very nice, kinda Bellagio-ish -- puts in a nice poker room. I definitely think that Houston could sustain a very nice poker room.

No I think you're right it is a 5/5 NL. I didn't play it I played the 3-6-12 limit and just saw it listed on the board and heard a few regulars complain about the higher limit game getting axed.
