Default General playstyle question

How do you folks play when the table is mostly tight?

By mostly tight I mean that it seems like everyone has read SSHE plus a few others; and is exercising good disciplne pre/post flop.

Also assume that there are, at most, 2 obviously bad players also at the table.

Thanks

I position myself so that I can steal some blinds from the rocks. I'd also like the fish to my right so they limp in, and I raise to isolate.

what kerowo said, there are so many tables out there it's not productive to sit at a tight one for long.

If you can't find a better table you get to have the fun and excitement of nut peddling. Tightening up when the rocks are in a hand. Everyone at the table is going to be iso raising the fish, so you will still have to have a hand against them.

To play at these tables, you have to have experience playing in a lot of HU or 6-max situations. Most of the time, it will be 2/3 to the flop, so the experiences you gain from playing 6-max definitely come in handy. If held at gunpoint to play at a table like this, take extensive notes.

What about increasing you steal attempts, both pre and post flop?

At some point in the poker journey upwards, don't these better opponenets become the norm? I would think playing well in these situations is what it's all about if we want to win real money at some point.

If you know people are isoraising the fish, you can 3bet lighter than normal. Sometimes you even get the hilarious result where the rock folds the best hand postflop while the fish calls you down with junk.

I actually think that playing at tougher tables is good for one's game. Short-medium term it might be -EV. It's long term +EV.
