IRA contributions, last minute!
Unfortunatly I have already filed, but I was just reading that you can deduct IRA contributions made as late as the due date for the return. You must specify what year it is to be applied at the time.
Someone skilled should verify this, I hope some of you guys can make use of it. Can't imagine why Taxcut didn't suggest it when I was prepearing my return, maybe it wouldn't have affected the bottom line...I honestly am only beginnning to pay attention to taxes now that my streak of fat returns has come to end. Re: IRA contributions, last minute!
You can deduct IRA contributions made up until the due date of the return. Even though you've already filed, you can still make a contribution.
Are you thinking about making a deductible contribution to an IRA or a Roth IRA? If you make a deductible contribution, you'll amend your return to get the extra $$$ back or credited forward. |
