I've been reading alot of strategy on PLO8, mainly www.o8poker.com. However, I'll be applying it to a NL O/8 home game over the summer. What are the major strategy differences?
Here is what I would figure: -Call more often on draws to the nut high (when there's no low) because you have greater implied odds. -Since there is less pot control, if you suspect you are being quatered get out quick. -Play position more. These are semi-educated guesses, I'm sure a lot of you understand the differences between PL and NL much better than I do. Edit: From the FAQ: "2) Posts may be regarding Limit Omaha/8, Pot-Limit Omaha/8 and any Omaha/8 tournaments. If you are unsure if your post is regarding a game belonging in this forum, please PM me and I will answer ASAP." Is NL O8 discussion a no-no? I would figure not, but don't wanna piss anyone off. |

NL O8? I've only played a total of 4 hours or so in my life, but I loved it. Played a bit on stars today as well, total goldmine. I was so close to quadrupling up my buy-in, one guy rivered a nut low on me, the others had a terrible high and one was drawing to the second nut low. 4 way all in by the turn, I had the nut high. Fun stuff.

Feel free to discuss NLO8. Just be prepared, no one likes it, lol.

Just be prepared, no one likes it, lol. [/ QUOTE ] Why not? It seems juicy to me, and I'm quite inexperienced at Omaha. |
