Played last nite in a stars FPP tourney, a rebuy turbo satellite for the big sunday tourney. Tourney ended up offering 14 seats after the rebuy period was over.
With about 30 players left, I was getting a little short stacked, sitting on about 12k in chips where the leaders at the table had about 30k and 50k, and blinds were around 2000. After folding for about an orbit and a half, with the big stacks stalling, I got A8s in MP1. Push here, or wait a bit and see if i find anything better in the next orbit? --Dan |

You are in double up or go home mode. Chances are you won't find anything better before you post both blinds, and then you'll only have 9k in chips. Push, and hope no one calls.
Do either of the big stacks have position on you? How tight were the other players playing? If you think you were highly likely to be called, then you can consider folding. Other than that, shove and pray. |

Yeah, the big stacks are seated two and four seats to my left, respectively. That is one of the factors that made me question my push move (that's what i did)...now, considering their position, I'm not sure i like the move in.
They were both stalling, and probably wanted to coast into the money, so I don't know what is a bigger factor, their desire to coast, or their ability to make a couple loose calls. --Dan |

From my limited experience in freerolls, even toward then end of the tournament, there's no guarantee you'll be up against the brightest of competition.
Sucks you lost. Later PG |
