Default Poker on work computer?

I travel for work sometimes and I take a work laptop with me (mainly because it's much lighter and smaller than my personal laptop). I subsequently have to return that laptop to the tech people in my company. I've thought about downloading Party (or some other poker software) into one of these laptop loaners so that I could play while on the road and later uninstalling it before returning the laptop. However, I'm concerned that there will always be traces of any such program in the hard drive that the tech people might find, which is something I want to avoid.

Have any of you ever done this? Is there a way to get around this or are there any web-based (no download/install) poker out there?

Thanks.

Depends on your IT staff. If they're thorough they'll find the bits in the registry from Party, Full Tilt, and Noble (these are the only ones I have installed at the moment) even if you install to a USB drive. Negreanu's site Full Contact Poker has a web based JAVA interface but I don't know if that is for play money only or not. Did they say you couldn't install software on the system? If not it's easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission

To be honest, I dont think I would get in trouble if they found out I was playing online. I'd just prefer if no one at work knew of my poker habits.

As vikefan says, pokerroom has the ability to serve you games through a Java enabled Web browser.

Even if you did install another room such as Party for example, you only need to uninstall the software correctly and then quickly trawl the registry to remove anything related to the poker room.

If they still find something, you can always say you did get some pop up that mentioned poker, so maybe it came from that. I would imagine they'd believe you.

Just uninstall the poker rooms via ADD REMOVE PROGRAM from CONTROL Panel, and then clean the registry with free cleaning software.

I seriously doubt techs at your company are going to look over the laptop for such things, WE HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO. 8)

Besides if this is a long term loaner, where I was, we'd wipe and drop it between owners, only the light loaners were an exception, I expect this to be the SOP at most companies.

One VP turned in a laptop with porn on it, and we said not a word.

YVW, just search for: registry cleaner on www.softpedia.com and you're all set on those, install and run a couple, before you turn it in...

if you are really sceptical about it you can always make a new partition install it on there then format the partition put the space back where it belongs and voila
