Ecstasy Users: Please Read
first, im not a soap box preaching about the morality of using illegal drugs. ive been smoking weed on and off for years and im a middle aged old fart. in my experimenting days, i had a small binge with coke but decided i didnt like going "fast". im more of a mellow dude, besides im an insomniac so its a bad combo. i tried lsd once but was drunk and threw up shortly after taking so it didnt count. i smoked tar opium once but nothing happened; prolly poor quality stuff.
the post about getting busted at harrah's reminded me of this: i saw on a news program a short time ago that interviewed a dr who specialized in drug treatment/addiction. his topic was X. he showed cat scans of users in very stages of use compared to a normal brain. it was clear to see the differnce. what surprised me was he stated that if his son was going to try herion or X for one time only , he would have his son do herion. wow. the point of my post is that if one person doesnt try it or stops using, i will have not wasted my time. if not, atleast i tried. ty and gl. |

Re: Ecstasy Users: Please Read
eh. the only scientifically sound study that has ever shown brain damage caused by ecstasy ended up being wrong. they people they were studying were using crystal meth and not ecstasy. i'm sure it's not good for you but taking it once isn't going to turn your brain into swiss cheese.
ps: the kids call it E now, not X |

Yeah, pretty much the only two drugs that you can't walk away from without damage are X and meth.
They don't listen though. |

[/ QUOTE ] Bullsh*t bullsh*t bullsh*t. That "doctor" used faulty research methods and that entire report has been dismissed as false and misleading. In fact, the main research that the ONDCP was using to make MDMA seem "bad", the researcher was actually using methamphetamine and NOT MDMA - a completely different substance. Other research in Europe has shown that Ecstasy does NOT cause any lasting brain damage. You are just parroting the government's line on this useful, beneficial, recreational substance. Another note on the study and AlienBoy and I referenced, the reserachers actually came out and rescinded the study; it's not just a bunch of stupid E users that are trying to claim that the study was invalid, the researchers actually admitted that it was.
