Default How long did it take you to be a high stakes NL holdem pro?

I'm curious, for those who play $2000 No limit holdem or higher, how long did it take you to reach that level, and what limits did you start at? Were there a certain stake levels where you played at longer before moving up, (improving skills or bankroll reasons etc..?) I've been climbing the stakes ladder, and hope to play at the high stakes levels in a couple years.

FWIW I started last summer at .10/.25 and in January my career took off as I flew through MSNL and ended up having a BR of 40k. Took a shot at 10/20 and lost 1/2 of it. Been working my way back up and am grinding 3/6 NL with a bigger roll.

im always amazed at how you 2p2ers can move up like 6 limits in 1 year. look at captzeebo who plays 50-100 and higher after like 1 year, its amazing. do you guys not have school, work, or are you guys just machines that don't sleep? how many hands/day do you nuts avg.

part of this is the advantage of multi tabling online...when you hear about high profile pros taking years to move up in limits (aka daniel negreanu playing 10/20 limit for 5 years) theyre grinding from the bottom, and didnt have/discover these internet advantages, books, forums, technology, etc...

people like captzeebo took full advantage of these. he is also the pimp [censored]. yeah his ego just went +5000, my bad.

That's the exception rather than the norm. There are many players who do okay playing by the book at middle limits multi-tabling, but when you start talking about 50/100 games or higher, there's not that many excellent winning players online. I also don't consider 2000 NL high stakes, but that's coming from a guy who primarily plays live uncapped games.

For most people, the answer is way too fast.

Try to have at least 6 figures before you start multi tabling 10/20 nl.
