How widespread is the bot problem?
Seems to be a lot of posts on suspected bots lately. Are they really that prevalent and that good?
Which games are you likely to encounter them? Is it easier to program a bot for a full game or short handed? If they exist in large numbers, are they indeed superior to a good player? And wouldn't it be easy for a poker site to detect them? Like send an easy pop up question once a while to all the players? Is this paranoia or is this for real? It would certainly make mockery of all the "giveaway" promos on Party. |

Re: How widespread is the bot problem?
Bots are not common, but the few that are out there are made an example of, so it seems like a bigger problem than it is.
Currently, they're also not very good. Supposedly they can beat .5/1 or 1/2, but so can a retarded monkey. A bot would get murdered by a good player in the vast majority of poker games. Where they become effective is low-level SnGs where you can employ a simple strategy and show a profit. |

Re: How widespread is the bot problem?
The bots that have been found are the tip of the iceburg.
The fact that a bot is not anywhere near world class does not make the issue any less scary. If allowed to continue they will improve. |

I fully believe that a bot could never play world-class poker. |

Re: How widespread is the bot problem?
Well I just have to say that to prove a point. What I mean is that there are enough mistakes by other players (not you) that allow a bot that is not very good to still be profitable.

ok,, good that you see that they do not have to improve to world class standard to frighten the living daylights off of any casual player.

Re: How widespread is the bot problem?
First of all, 20 bots is not a lot.
Second, if you could play at a table with only bots, you should. |

Re: How widespread is the bot problem?
OK let me rephrase twenty bots by what looks to be like one person. Also the site didnt even catch them it took a smart 2+2er to make the call. So if I site cant catch someone that was as easy to spot as this. How do you know how many other people are doing this. Im not debating the fact about fish thats not what im talking about. Im saying the average joe likes to get online and play poker with PEOPLE from around the world not SERVERS.
