Default prairie meadows bbjp

was playing 1/2 nl tonight at prairie meadows in altoona ia and the bbjp hit on my table. 4 7's beat aces full of kings but the man with aces full gave a motion to mucking but then showed his cards. His cards never enterd the muck nor left his hand. the casino is telling us we are going to get called tomorrow to see if this is a valid jackpot or not. They usualy just pay it at the table. Am I screwed?

I would say you are screwed or fighting a very steep uphill battle. Really weird they said they would call and let you know. I have never heard of a casino doing that before, but it's easier to break the bad news over the phone than in person I guess.

I'm really surprised the two people involved in this hand didn't go crazy when they refused to pay. If the player's cards never left his hand then it should be a valid hand. One question I have is were the other players talking about the BBJJ and/or telling the player to show his hand because of the BBJJ?? If that's is the case I could see the casino saying the hand is dead because people were discussing the hand. Keep us informed on what decision they give you.

No discusion of the jackpot before the hand was exposed. The person with quads simply asked the other player "what'd you have?" You've got the exact same thinking as I with the "easier to break the news over the phone". I have a fealing if they told us no at the table everyone would have thrown quite the fit, but you never know. They still havn't called so i'm still holding out on a little hope.

I'm not so sure - the floor at PM comes in two forms: good to very good (Beth, the rest of the crew from Canterbury) and absolutely clueless . . . if you got the night crew, then there's a good chance that between floor and security they had no clue what to do with the hand . . . which obv could mean literally anything is possible.

I'd guess they have to run it through the IGRC guy onsite today, I wouldn't be surprised if you get the money (and would also not be terribly surprised if they called and told you "sorry, you're f-ed"). The rules on a 'forward mucking motion' are not very strictly enforced in my experience, so there's hope.

Anyway, good luck man - hope it's good news. Are you a regular out here?

Dang, no money for me. Aparently the man who lost the hand showed his cards to the person next to him before acting like mucking. Not sure of all the specifics, but basicly i'm screwed. To make things worse, they decided to call me right when i'm changing a flat tire on my way to work. No i'm not really a regular at pm, I make it up once every couple weeks. I'm typicly a limit player online, but whenever I'm at pm I usualy play the 1/2 nl just because it's such a juicy game.

You lost out on a table share. The guy who wasn't smart enough to table his losing hand cost himself 50% of the jackpot.

Sucks for you... but someone should take away the other guy's shoelaces and belt.

I think it was 47,000 but dont remember for sure, it's really nothing I usualy pay attention to. Yeah I'm pretty convinced they knew we weren't getting jack when they told us they'd call us, but knew it's better to tell us when we're away from the casino, and not near the jackass that cost us all a lot of money. In his defense though, he was clearly the biggest fish at the table, so everyone had already gotton a piece of him
