Uhm...actually, that's good advice. There's already $80 in the middle, and a push is for $62 more. If villain folds with just about any drawing hand, he's making an expensive mistake. Your money is going into the middle either way, so you might as well give your opponent a chance to screw things up. Even if you're beaten here, you have a 1/3 chance of winning by the river, and the pot is offering you sufficient odds on the call. Bad luck, reload, and take it back from him later.

Wow...I got into a big debate with a friend, he has Ax suited and flops two of his suit, and my pocket pair makes trips. If I have none of his suit he still has 9 outs to a flush, but I have 7 outs on the turn for a boat or quads, and 10 on the river if I miss the turn. He likes his and I like mine. I push that flop for reasons already posted and even if behind you have a fair number of outs to catchup.

BTW, if you flop a set, how do you NOT bet? Most people c-bet an uncoordinated flop (even when they miss), here you have a set against a possible drawing hand. He could have an open ender, if you don't bet hard then, you are pot comitted with a smaller bet, aren't you? I just don't understand not getting aggressive here. If you are passive here, what if he takes the lead? Won't it make reading his hand evne harder? You don't know where you stand, but can only guess....and here you flopped a set.

Probably people will explain why I'm not understanding this even yet, and that will be good, so I can learn better, myself.

Just push the flop, this post has little strategic content and should be posted in BBV. No need to get bent outtve shape over losing with a flopped set.

I strongly disagree. Pushing this flop is the wrong move, although it goes against the accepted knowledge around here, and I'd like to have a discussion about it.

Best,
CT

Best,
