Hey guys. My first post so don't flame me too bad. To provide some context for the hand, this is the 10k (pounds) on Crypto. 405 entrants, top 50 get paid, we are just in the money. I have been tight and aggressive, seeing only a few flops and having to show down very few hands. Just about any hand I raise PF I have been aggressive postflop and this style has been effective at this table. Villan in this hand has been TAG himself, but has tried to push me off a couple hands, I think because I had not show anything down he thought I was full of it. However he at no point put his stack on the line with a marginal holding. When he calls PF I am hoping to give him a little rope to catch him but it backfires. I have my own thoughts about the hand but will share after comments. FYI PF raise has been starndard raise at this table. Thanks.

Thanks for the responses guys. I agree with the sentiment about making it 2400 PF. I was trying not to give the strength of my hand away (standard openeing raise had been around 2.5xbb), but considering I was raising UTG I think in hindsight such a small raise was a mistake (it was already obvious I had a strong hand if I raised UTG). The turn card was so harmless that I got greedy and thought I'd see one more and see if he would bite. Of course the 9 was the worst card in the deck and my not pushing the turn was a big mistake. Does anyone call the river bet?

KK or AA usually you will win a small pot or lose a big one. Bigger bet preflop is the only good idea. I wouldnt call the river.

[/ QUOTE ] The quote from Brunson is you "win a big pot or lose a big pot" with big pairs. He said you "win a small pot or lose a big pot" with trouble hands like AJo. There is 40K in the pot and hero has 16K left, so you are getting 7-2 pot odds to call on the river. I think there is enough chance villain has top pair or a busted draw or something to call. I can't believe all these weak/tight people saying fold because your tournament life is at stake or something. |

anyone else want to raise the flop here?
If I don't get more chips in there, I certainly push the turn when the brick fell. |
