[start rant/whine] I hate playing for 5 hours, feeling ever so pleased with some carefully laid traps, check-raises, whatever to get yourself a decent stack and then some lucky donk who has been going all-in with garbage reraises your AK all-in with 22, and you lose and you sit there fuming. It just doesn't seem in the spirit of the game when stuff like that happens. [end rant/whine]
Believe it or not there is a point to this post and that is that it occurred to me that if pot limit tourneys were standard then irritating random luck like that wouldn't happen. You could at least see a flop and make a decision there. Do you think it's possible pot limit could start taking over the hold 'em tourney scene? |

Not likely. The "Moneymaker" factor is a big reason most of our customers pay.
It would be nice though... |

Why don't you just play pot limit then?

There is 10+1 PLHE starting on Stars right now, if you think this is hard to find.

It's not so hard to find PLHE tournies if you shop around.

The big money is in NLHE because bad players have a chance but good players still have an edge. If you want the big money, you're going to have to accept variance.

Your problem is you only remember the important coinflips you lose.
I haven't seen a post from you where you say, "I sat there for five hours building this nice stack and then this donk takes his equally big stack and puts my AK all-in, and I decided to call and BAM I hit and was the new chip leader and I went on to take down the tournament for $25k! Thank god for donks!" |

Don't go results oriented, that will kill you.
Lately I have had garbage beat me constantly, people calling with hugely improper odds to river their flush, etc etc, if I went by results oriented (meaning no cashes lately, mostly due to situations like I just mentioned) I would start to question my game. |
