Default I make a huge pot then try to push people out of it

1/2 LHE 9 handed

MP 3 is fishy too loose too passive
SB is a tricky player probably a winner. May give too much action with mediocore hands.
BB- I haven't noticed him in a hand which means he's probably tight

Preflop

Hero raise A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in MP1, MP3 calls, SB calls, BB 3-Bets, Hero caps. All call

My thoughts were that MP3 would cold call another two after he cold called the first two. SB would probably call again because of the odds.
And that BB 3 betting range included was JJ-AA, AKo with perhaps a frisky 1010, and AQ. I just started playing full ring today. Is this range too loose for full ring with this multi-way pot from the BB?

Flop (16SB) A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

BB Bets, I raise.

Gutshots get odds to call if I don't raise so do pocket pairs with the implied odds if they hit. Good raise?

Good, but honestly you shouldn't have to think this hard to make it

raise mostly because you have the best hand and you want them to call.

Gutshots will get the implied odds to call even if you do raise. Immediately it's 9.5:1 on about a 12:1 shot. That would be enough to get gutshot calls.

The best you could do on that would be to call the flop and hope it gets called around. Then it would be about 6.5:1 on the turn if BB bets into you again.

That's assuming a lot of things.

I think we have the best chance of winning if we wait to raise the turn...if you believe BB will lead again.

If it goes to the moon on the flop, call and don't forget your backdoor outs.

Dude we have far, far, far too much equity to not push here. Just because gutshots have odds to call doesn't mean we're somehow losing money when they do.

Calling with top pair top kicker would be almost as bad as calling with a set here, still fearing gutshots.

I don't want the best chance of winning. I want to maximize (pot size) * (chance of winning), which may mean winning less often if it drastically increases the pot.

Based on your subject: this isn't a great way to play.

Let's read the post...

Gutshots, pps, etc, all have the odds to peel this flop even if you do raise. You're raising for value, not to protect.

Raise it up. At this limit a gut shot is probably going to call regardless of the odds they have. A good chunk of them probably are clueless anyway. Value bet/ raise until someone convinces you that you are beat.
