Need Help from someone from Philly

I'm going to Philly in about a 2 months and need to book a hotel.
Can someone help me with what part of town to stay?
We will be going to an event Downtown I think. On 20th St.

We may also take the train to AC since its not very far. Is that enough to make this poker related?

I know this isn't really the forum for this question, but I figured some people who go to Atlantic City and live in Philly post here, and could help me.

Definitely center city - 20th street is center city so your event is also close! That being said, philadelphia is pretty small and you can wlak aroudn the whole city quite easily -

Actually, if there are any 2+2ers who drive regularly to AC from center city philly and would be interested in sharing tolls/gas, pm me - I'm looking for a semi-regular ac buddy.

AC is about a 50 minute drive from center city, depending on how fast you drive. It's really easy, just go over the Ben F. bridge, get on the AC expressway and it's a straight shot for ~50 miles.

OP, stay in center city. AC is a hop and a skip away, you don't even need to jump.

Right around city hall there are several of the chain (Mariott, Hyatt, etc) hotels within 4 block radius. You can also walk to the Reading terminal for a taste of Philly.

Thanks for the help everyone. I knew I could count on you for some great information. I'm looking forward to the trip.

We are going to a small club of some sort that's at 20th and Moyamensing Ave. and yes, I would love to be able to just walk places. I live in Texas now, and you just don't walk much of anywhere. Not if you want to get where your going.

20th and moyamensing is in south philly, take the broad street subway (orange) to oregon ave, get off, walk 6 blocks to 20th street, turn south until it hits moyamensing
