Default good spot to get it in?

Live 2-5 NL

Villain (just under $600) is pretty new to the table. He has not been out of line and has won a small pot or two.

I cover.

Villain limps in Ep, two more limp and I raise to $30 with black Kings in the small blind. Villain and only one limper call.

(Flop $100) Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I bet $75, Villain quickly raises to $175. Other player folds and I call.

Turn ($450)T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I check, villain bets $200, and I check-raise all-in.

Looks pretty standard. I think 3-betting the flop AI probably works too in a live game with stacks this size.

Push flop.

Board is pretty draw heavy, don't give him a chance for a free card.

If he's pretty agro, and you're pretty sure he'll bet a draw, your line is fine.

Do you generally 3-bet push on these types of boards?

In this case I have no reads on the guy, but he seemed descent. I figured he had nut flush draw/combo draw, but he might have 33/QT, or AQ, I don't really know. Waht i did want was a fairly safe turn card.

3-bet push puts the pressure on him, and avoids tough decisions if you have a bad turn (A Q or [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], mainly)

Winning the pot without a showdown after getting 200 scrilla out of him is pretty sweet in my book, although I'm not sure how often he'll fold to a push here regardless of his holdings.

As played it's fine since the turn didn't hurt you, I like 3-betting flop AI, unless you were planning on folding to a dangerous turn and had him on a range of drawing hands.

stack sizes seem right to push the flop, but as played, you got the most value from his draw, since he won't fold his eight-outter for ~200 more into a ~$1000 pot.

More preflop. In most live games, 8xBB is g00t.

As for post, I like it.

If you know he'll bet a blank turn with a draw, then its fine. Otherwise push flop.
