Default live $1/2 NL, Winning play is going to be \"boring\" correct?

Going to the casino this weekend, probably going to play the $1/2 NL games. I've been mostly playing low buy-in SnG on PS lately. I've been playing aggressively, raising preflop and making continuation bets. Is this style going to get my killed at the lowest buy in cash games? Should I just tighten up and raise strong with premium hands?

How deep are the stacks. If it's 100bb or less, just play tight and valuebet your good hands.

Max buyin is 50 BB so most players most won't have much more than that.

I find live play pretty boring. It is a bit more interesting because you can loosen up a bit since stuff like TPTK or even TPGK is good WAY more than online.

My casino has this same structure, and I am accustomed to playing with 100BB on Party. The main adjustment I have to make is to try to not raise preflop with my speculative hands as much, even from the button. Raising a few limpers with 78s is a play I make a lot at Party, but with stacks so short your implied odds are cut way down. By that same token, keep track of preflop raises in relation to stack size. Often times a preflop raise will involve more than 10% of his/your stack, making playing small pairs for set value not a great idea. That said, these games are usually pretty soft, and playing solid big cards for value should do you well.

The bigger the blinds in relation to stacks, the more important it is to steal - so the games get more aggressive, which leads again to more action and also to more rake.

Iceman, one other note. Casino play is far from boring to me, and I find it can be much more profitable than online play. I think you will find a higher amount of players who will check/fold most flops to you when you have position, and if they have a hand they predictably lead out. Punish these guys with your position and take pots from them (not boring to me). You will also find a high amount of total calling stations, who while you can't bluff or use your position on, you can really beat them up with value betting (moderately boring but still fun).

Well guess I stated that wrong, as poker is never going to be boring to me. I guess what I meant to ask is if I should play tight ABC poker and just play the cards more than anything else.

Good advice.

Oh, and don't bluff, almost ever. In general, no bluffing, no slow-playing.
