Being a jackass to a waitress

I was at the Olive Garden with friends a while back, and we were making jokes towards the waitress (whose name is Andrea) as we usually do. Nothing offensive at all, more like flirting than anything. She seemed to think it was entertaining.

So anyway, as she's bringing out food, someone is asking if we can stop at Best Buy after dinner. Another friends chimes in that he is pretty much out of cash, to which I respond (keep in mind the waitress is hearing everything) "Well you can use the money you save by not tipping." Everyone chuckles slightly, and I'm about to give the waitress a "just kidding" when she says "Maybe you'd tip more if you knew what it was like to put up with people like you all day." I didn't respond, which is good because I probably just would have made things worse.

I kind of felt bad for being sarcastic at her expense, but I decided that she was in the wrong enough to warrant some sort of revenge. So, on a $65 check, we left a one dollar tip. To top it off, I wrote "[censored] you Andrea" as large as I could on the bill.

So what I must ask is, was my response legit? I thought it was overkill in retrospect, but I couldn't believe that she would be as obnoxious as she was. What does OOT think?

Tipping $1 and leaving the note is really stupid.
