2 things:
If youre not much of an online player, dont play poker for a living. Also, do you plan on multi-tabling and/or shorthanded or fullring? |

[/ QUOTE ] did my post not make sense 5/10NL live is definitely beatable for a minimum of 2K/week that said, I'm trying to figure out if 25 buy ins is enough or if I need more (living expenses for 6 months are taken care of) |

I think 30 buy ins should minimize your risk of ruin to a minimum. Thats from what i have heard and read from other sources.

Re: Live No Limit Bankroll (For full-timers)
No fixed number of buy-ins is going to be appropriate for all games and situations.
When games are very deep, you need fewer buy-ins (but may need more blinds). If your edge is smaller, you need a larger bankroll. If you are able to move down to a smaller game if you hit a bad streak, you can safely use a smaller bankroll. For a wide variety of gambling situations, the bankroll you need is c*(SD^2)/WR, where SD is your standard deviation, WR is your win rate, and c is a number depending on your risk tolerance and ability/willingness to move down. Most people are happy with a value of c between 2 and 4. For example, an online NL player with a win rate of 20 big blinds/100 and SD of 100 big blinds/100 and c=3 should have a bankroll of at least 1500 big blinds, usually 15 full buy-ins. If you are playing to pay the rent, you may prefer a slightly higher value of c, but a better adjustment is to decrease your win rate by what is needed to pay your living expenses. |
