Default Affiliates/Rakeback Forum Welcome and Updated FAQ

To find our more information about advertising on this forum please email advertise@checkraised.com .

For the past few years, rakeback discussion has been off limits on the 2+2 forums. Now, with the help of AffiliateEV.com, that has changed. We are proud to present the first and only forum on 2+2 dedicated to the discussion of affiliates and rakeback.

AffiliateEV.com is a joint venture created by a group of long-term affiliates with several years of experience under our belts. Combined, we have generated tens of millions for poker sites and have given back over $4.3 million to our users. We have recently opened a family of websites to offer our users numerous resources to help maximize all aspects of their poker experience, both on and off the poker table.

Below are three different sections. The first is the “scope of discussion on this forum”, the second is “General Forum Rules”, and the third is, “Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Rakeback.”

Scope of Discussion On This Forum:

[*]questions regarding AffiliateEV[*] newbie questions regarding affiliates[*]general affiliate-related questions/discussion[*]various Poker room affiliate policies[*]promotional methods[*]newbie questions regarding rake[*]general poker rake questions/discussion[*]general affiliate rake site questions/discussion
This is a commercial forum, therefore, moderation for this forum will be done primarily by AffiliateEV.com. As many of you know, the affiliate business is highly competitive. As a result, insults and flame wars easily break out. This is not something that will be tolerated in this forum. We encourage open and civil discussion. Insults and flaming will cause posts to be deleted and accounts to be banned.

There has been an informal rule in place for the last few months that Party rakeback is not to be discussed in this forum. Party Poker has made it clear that they do not want affiliates to offer rakeback. Therefore, we will not allow it to be discussed here.

If you make a post in this forum asking for ways to get rakeback, your post will be deleted. Same goes for posts asking for PMs about Party rakeback. If you continue to make posts about this topic after the fact, your account will be suspended or possibly banned.

You are welcome to discuss Party’s affiliate program, affiliate promotions, or anything VIP-related, but the rakeback issue is off-limits. If you have a topic that you think is questionable, feel free to contact one of the A/R mods and we will determine if the post is appropriate.

Rules That Are to be Followed At All Times in This Forum

[*]Do not post affiliate links[*]No spam. This includes sending PM’s because somebody asked about a certain site.[*]No libelous comments towards affiliates[*]Do not post affiliate/rakeback percentages[*]No posts asking to "PM me with offers"
If you have had a bad experience with an affiliate, you are encouraged to post about it. We would like to keep the affiliate industry as reputable as possible and foster the reputation we have built for ourselves within this forum for our users. If you chose to ‘out’ an affiliate, you MUST provide details of the event. Unfounded accusations will be deleted as it is considered flaming.

If you are interested in advertising here, contact us at advertising@affiliateev.com . Please include the rakeback business you represent(if any) and your twoplustwo handle(if any)

Disclaimer: Neither 2+2 nor affiliateEV are responsible in the event that an affiliate fails to appropriately reimburse you as advertised.

Frequently Asked Questions

[*]What it is “rake”?: This is the amount of money taken out of each pot as a fee to the poker room that is running the poker game. At almost all sites, the pot has to reach a minimum amount before the rake is taken out. At almost all sites the maximum rake is $3.[*]What is rakeback?: When the poker room takes money out of each pot they pay a certain percentage of this to an affiliate. An affiliate is somebody/company that gets paid by the poker site for signing up new players/recruiting new players. Affiliates came up with the idea that if they could give the players a percentage of their affiliate earnings that the player has generated for them, then they would be able to attract many more customers. Hence, the affiliates are giving the players their “rakeback”. [*] What is MGR?: MGR stands for “Monthly Gross Revenue”. Gross Revenue" is calculated as the sum total of all Players' contribution to all "rakes" the Players were involved while playing at the Website, less any credits, bonus or promotional amounts given to Players, processing charges, charge backs, or any un-collectable revenue attributable to the Player. The higher your MGR the more money you will earn from rakeback. If your MGR is $3000 from X site you will earn Y% of the MGR; this is your rakeback. [*] Are bonuses deducted from my MGR?: Some sites will deduct bonuses from your MGR (Each site that deducts bonuses will be detailed further down the FAQ). What this means, is that if you earn, for example, a $100 bonus and your MGR is $1000, they will deduct the $100 bonus from your MGR (once you are ACTUALLY given the bonus), which will give you a net MGR of $900. [*] 3 different ways sites calculate your MGR: Different poker sites will figure your MGR in different ways. There are 3 different ways this is figured. The first is called the “dealt” method. As long as you are dealt cards you will earn MGR on the hand (as long as the pot is raked). For example, if you are playing with 10 players at the table and all of them are dealt in and the pot is raked $1.50, you will earn 10/1.50 or 15 cents for this hand. Once again, you only have to be dealt in to earn MGR on the hand; you do not have to actually contribute to the pot. The formula for this is: ($ amount raked) /(amount of players dealt in) = MGR

The second method is “average contributed”. This means not only do you have to be dealt in, but you also have to contribute to the pot in some way (even if you fold the small blind). An example of this would be, if 10 players are dealt in the hand, but only 6 contribute to the pot (including you) and the pot is raked $3.00, you will earn 6/$3.00 or 50 cents in MGR. The formula for this is similar to the above:
(($ amount raked) / Amount of players contributed to the pot) = MGR

The third, and final method, is “weighted contributed”. This means not only do you have to be dealt in, but, once again, you will have to contribute to the pot in some way. The difference between this method and the “average contributed” method above is that your MGR is figured in direct proportion to the amount of money you put in the pot. For example, 10 people are dealt in the hand and 8 of them contribute to the pot (including you), but after you have contributed $20 to the pot total, you fold on fourth street (along with 5 other players), 1 person folds on the turn, and 2 people see the showdown. The final pot is $240 and is raked $3. Since you contributed $20 to the $240 pot, you will earn $20 / $240 or 8.33% of the $3 rake, which is 24.99 cents. The formula is: (amount contributed to the pot / $ amount of pot ) * ($ amount raked) = MGR

At the end of the FAQ there will be a table that shows most of the poker sites, the method they use to figure MGR and, whether bonuses are deducted from MGR.
[*] Can I get rakeback on a site I already have an account with? : The general rule is that you cannot receive rakeback if you already have an account with a certain site. This is usually against the site’s Terms and Conditions. It is known that some people have received rakeback at a site that they already have an account with, but since it is usually against a site’s Terms and Conditions we are not going to explore how something like this can be arranged. [*] How can one find a reputable affiliate? : The best thing to do is either click the different banners in our forum or view the sticky thread here for a listing of all of our advertisers and the percentages that they offer. All of our affiliates and Review sites (towards the bottom of the sticky) are reputable affiliates and rakeback sites.
[*] How much MGR do I have to contribute to be considered a high volume player? : This is going to vary from affiliate to affiliate. The best thing to do is contact different affiliates to find out.
[*] Can I be my own affiliate? Can my friend, brother, etc… be my affiliate? : Sites do not allow you to be your own affiliate. It is allowed to have your friend, brother, etc… be your affiliate, but there are two problems with this. The first is that most sites have a clause that states, if you are not actively signing people up, then they reserve the right (and usually will) to cancel their agreement with you. The other reason you want to signup with a larger affiliate, is they usually earn a higher percentage of MGR from the different poker sites. This means that they will be able to offer you a higher percentage of rakeback then somebody that has signed you and his brother up, for example, and does not plan on signing anybody else up. This extra percentage is generally a significant amount.
[*] I asked a simple question about rakeback and now my PM box is filled with offers, what can I do?: We do not allow people to ask for offers or for affiliates to send you an offer through PM. If you get an offer, please send a copy of the PM to one of the moderators of the forum; Craig, Morgant, or InthaCup (the moderators can be found at the bottom of the forum).
[*] List of Poker Rooms: : The below lists the most popular poker rooms in alphabetical order. You will be able to see how each site calculates MGR, whether bonuses are deducted, and if SNG/MTT count towards your MGR. We would like to give a special thanks to PokerAddict for helping us compile this list.
