Default So I\'ve had a bad week on 10/20 (Variance). . .

Been playing Partypoker's 10/20 this week, I haven't been playing that bad and have had lots of bad runner runner/river beats and have seen my roll (around 50-60k) be swinging from $15k-/+ on the occasional day.

I haven't been playing extremely wild - but I've been fairly loose; I thought about tightening up my play to risk losing less of my roll here? Any thoughts. .

Do many of you guys find this usual as a variance? Or should I really be playing 5/10 with that sort of roll?

Advice is welcomed

p.s Also who is iDESTROYu on Party I've seen him winning lots today

May I suggest BBV or NVG? In any case, 7 buyin swings is not unusual. Tightening up will reduce variance. Good luck. Your roll should be fine for that game if you're a winning player, but if you are worrying about the money you'll probably do better building up a bit at 5/10 to a point where the swings don't bother you as much.

Dov is wise beyond his limits. Post hands that you think you played correctly but lost money on... maybe you really played them incorrectly but don't realize it.

Standard.

Now drop down until you build your roll to 100k. You'll feel much better about your swings if you do.

Hi - read the advice so far thanks everyone for people who got back

Thinking of playing some 5/10 from not often until I can sustain these swings; however I have the slight thought in the back of my mind that I could go back into 10/20 and win it back quicker. . . however that would probarly be the wrong decision? I am young and can't really figure out whether that's the stupidest thing I could do?

if you're questioning it, it is probably not the right move. when you feel comfortable moving up, you'll know.
