Default The cowboys of Microville

MP2 is 33/18/1.7 after only 40 hands. He is running over the table which has probably average players, a mix of tight and loose. It appears a lot of players are folding on the river and when he does show it's a winner. How do you like this line?

I see zero alternatives to this line.

Standard. nh

With a smaller pot you could try to check-raise most of the field by just calling the raise on the flop. But in this situation, the pot is BIG. Get people out now.

I like it. Would you have folded to a turn raise, called down, or kept the war going?

I think it's a clear fold. About the only hand we are beating is QQ, and I doubt even that raises.

perhaps the only thing i might do is check the river to get him to bet at it with ace-high or QQ or TT. but either way you are calling a bet and it only prevents you from having to deal with a bluff river raise from this aggressive guy.

Eh, microlimits are weird. I've seen people raise an ace with two pair on board, on the assumption that a high kicker will take it. I keep meaning to go back through all my hand histories and try to put together some kind of numbers on what kinds of hands get aggressive in different situations, but I'm a fairly casual player and probably don't have enough data to say anything definitive. Plus it seems like a lot of work .
