30+3 77 hand with big stack
What do yall think is this standard? I'm definately playing this hand with position and I didn't want to limp and let the blinds in. Flop is a cont. bet and turn looks like I'm beat. Now that I write this it looks pretty standard but I gues I'll post anyways and see what you feel about playing PPs here. Cool.

Re: 30+3 77 hand with big stack
I wouldn't cbet that flop in a 3-way pot with a 2-suited, 2-overcard board. If I was gonna cbet, I'd bet around 1000.
Turn fold is standard. |

Re: 30+3 77 hand with big stack
limp, letting the blinds in is fine because you should be playing mostly for set value. If you're gonna raise, raise to 4x the bb so you have some fold equity. Don't cbet the flop, you're very rarely gonna take it down and you only have one clean out.

Re: 30+3 77 hand with big stack
ya but i wouldnt raise button with any pair lower then 10.When i hit my set iw ant action. Check the flop and see if you hit a 7 on turn. Utg show strength let him have it. Fold on turn is good.

Re: 30+3 77 hand with big stack
If you're going to raise preflop, raise more. If you're going to cbet the flop, bet more. I probably don't do either.
I like your turn fold, though |

Re: 30+3 77 hand with big stack
Limp preflop.
Don't toss away chips as transparent cbets into scary boards. If you are going to represent hands, make sure they make sense. If you had a K here, would you bet 600 into that board? |

Re: 30+3 77 hand with big stack
I agree with the advince to limp pre-flop. I want to make sure that I understand everyone's thinking on the flop bet, though. When hero bets $600 the pot is laying slightly over 4:1 for UTG. So, if UTG is on a flush draw, the call is a no-brainer. Is this the logic? Is there any (reasonable) bet here that gives villian the wrong odds?
Also, I guess we're putting villian on A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],x [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Is there anything we could point to that suggests he's yanking our chain? UTG has big stack--couldn't he be pushing us around a bit here? |

Re: 30+3 77 hand with big stack
Villain calls that weak ass flop bet with Kx, Tx, any 2 hearts, QJ, and a lot of other hands.
