Default How does online equal over to Live?

I am turning 21 in a week and will end up going to play some poker at some casino's...

My question is, if I mainly play 2/4 and 3/6 FR Limit online, what stakes would equal over to Live limits? Which stakes in a casino would I feel most comfortable with, ya know, not too loose but not too tight where I feel outplayed more than I have an edge...

These days I play live 6-12 and 8-16 with some 20-40 every now and then. I very rarely am in a game that is as tight as online 3-6 was when I played. That, and the inability to see the other players, are the reasons that I no longer play online.

I think you will be surprised at how loose the games are at the levels I've mentioned and from what I see at Casino Arizona it's the same all the way up to 60-120. The games will be much looser than online no matter what you play.

If you're a winning player at 2/4 and 3/6 online, then you will be shocked at the (lack of) quality of live 4/8 or 6/12 play. Online games tend to be much tougher than live games of the same level. The one caveat is to start out at the lowest limit game spread in the room you're playing in (i.e., play 2/4 rather than 4/8 if the room spreads both). I play in a 4/8 game at a local casino, and it's pretty juicy, but the 6/12 game (the biggest spread there) is where the local sharks sharpen their teeth against each other. I play elsewhere for 6/12 action.

The thing to remember is that people play live for other reasons than to get really good at poker and make a lot of money. They play because they're at a casino, and gambling's fun. "Hell, you gotta put down $5 before you even see your cards when you play blackjack, and you're telling me I get to see my cards first and THEN decide whether to put in $4 here at the poker table? Whatta deal!!!"

And I thought I was the only one who cut his teeth online, and then quit playing online once I experienced the live game! And yep, I play pretty much exclusively live for the same reasons, and, because, once I played live, I realized poker is a social game, and if I wanted to bet while sitting in front of a video screen, I'd just play slots or video poker.

Live poker is just so much more juicy, and fun to play.

5-10 sounds good try the 10-20 if you feel confident.

I use 'rule of 5'

If you can beat 1/2 online, you can most likely beat up 5/10 live.

I just dont feel like sitting in a game like .5/1 online where its no foldem holdem. I would rather play against some better players, call me crazy...

I beat 2/4 for 2.98bb/100 over 25k hands and 3/6 for 2.2bb/100 over only 4k hands...

I'm thinking I might jump into 5/10 or something near that first

<hijack>
does the "rule of five" apply to NL? how bad is 5/10 and 10/20 live, if they spread that high?
