Default Converting Casettes to iPod

What is the most effective way of coverting music on casettes to an mp3 player?

Some of the music on them are not avialble on cds or online
and I don't really want to buy them all on CD again.

If you want the whole casette as one giant MP3 it's pretty easy.

Use a free program like audiograbber (or another free line-in sampling program from www.cnet.com) and run a RCA mini plug from your tape deck to your line-in port on your audio card and let that sucker run till the tape is complete.

To get individual tracks you're going to have to stop start the tape/audiograb manually or after you've gotten the giant MP3 you need to use software to manually chop the thing into tracks.
