Re: Can I fold this?
lotta people will bet out with a strong J and maybe get raised by a fd. im no expert but depending on how crazily important this tourney is to you i push and i dont think theres a JJ out there, maybe a higher 8 but thats the breaks

Re: Can I fold this?
I think the answer is No you can't fold this. This board is too draw heavy.
I see 2 plans of action here You can either push now and hope someone doesn't have a bigger 8 or they call and miss their draws (and a jack probably isn't folding either because for a lot of people--they never ever consider folding top pair) or flat call and go nuts on a blank turn if you aren't feeling like getting it allin on the flop because of those draws probably calling. If the turn sucks then you can get out of there relatively safely. |

Re: Can I fold this?
you can, but you probably shouldn't.
i'd say it's 50/50 that you're already beat though- i really doubt that the sb is messing around here and you don't beat many 8s- mehhh i'd still probably push and lament life if i go broke here. |

Re: Can I fold this?
i still say regardless of either flop/turn, gotta get all the kids in the pot...
vs. AJ with a bd fd vs. an open fd you're still way ahead sucks when you're beat in these situations but i go down with the SIIHP all the time here- Board: Jh 8h 8s Dead: equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 58.2503 % 58.25% 00.00% { 8d7d } Hand 2: 13.2890 % 13.29% 00.00% { AsJs } Hand 3: 28.4607 % 28.46% 00.00% { KhQh } edited to say this is a best case- nobody else with an 8 or an 8 with better kicker |

Re: Can I fold this?
I would never fold this. You will see this raise with AJ, some KJ, flush draws, and occasionally a straight draw. I do hate his raise (and not push), but you can't alwasy read to much into bet sizes. He can't bust you anyway, make him show you you are beat. I push.

Re: Can I fold this?
I have 130XBB behind. Another eight is a serious consideration for one of the players (maybe the only consideration).

Re: Can I fold this?
I wouldn't fold either but why in the world is everyone saying to push? You'll only get called if you're destroyed. Call, see the turn, go from there. If it comes bet/raise to you, fold the turn.

Re: Can I fold this?
I call and play the turn. betnothing12 has the case 8, but I think you have to play it out at this point. You have outs and the possibility of a chop, possibility of being ahead, and the Harrington 10% minimum for bluffing factor (although that seems extremely unlikely here - although I guess he could have a draw?).
The other dude has a J or a pocket pair and can't let it go. |
