Live Tourney Hand:
225 tourney at the Hilton last night.
Blinds are 50/100 and will be moving up in about 10 minutes. Villain and I have about 1900 each. 2 Folds, MP1 raises to 300 (Nothing bad to say about him, he hasnt been at the table long), everyone folds to me in the BB and I have AKo. My thoughts. -I could call and see a flop, then check fold if I missed -I could raise to 900 which commits me to calling a reraise, and makes it hard to lay down on the flop should I miss. -I could move all in, and hope he folds or that he doesnt have AA/KK, and gamble it up. What should I do there? C-Dog |

Re: Live Tourney Hand:
I played in a bunch of those tournaments and I found the nighttime ones to be a bit looser. With the quicker rounds and less starting chips, you really couldn't afford to pass up any opportunities.
I probably either make it 1000 to go and call a reraise or just move in on the flop regardless, or push all in preflop. I don't think you gain any extra FE by moving in here preflop though since his chip count is as low as yours. 1000 will do the same job. Also, making it a typical reraise may look like you want a call here to get value from your hand. Then when you move in you play it like a big PP. How did you fair in the rest of the tournaments? What else did you play? |

Re: Live Tourney Hand:
Thats the only 1 I entered so far. I am going to play tonights 225 as well, and the Super Sat on Sunday. I am also spending my day at 3/5 NL. If anyone is there and looking for me, I am a big Red Headed Guy wearing shorts.
As for the hand my thoughts were pretty much the same. C-Dog |
