Will Bush Drop into the 30s?
Two recent polls have Bush's job approval at 42%, by far the lowest ever for a President at this point in his term.
With only a few thousand Iraqi troops ready to do battle alone, and the Republican-led Congress snubbing Bush seemingly at every opportunity, it doesn't seem the news is going to get better anytime soon. Could we possibly see a President drop into his 30s? |

Re: Will Bush Drop into the 30s?
he was always lame - now he's just a lame duck....all his bullying can't get him what he wants now - the Rep's all have to stop doing what Der Fuhrur wants and start doing what they want to get reelected -

Re: Will Bush Drop into the 30s?
I think its difficult to say how low his potential is. There are people who support a candidate simply because of their party or because of single issues. I'm under the impression that many deeply religious folks LOVE him simply because of his religousness (that doesn't look like its spelled right but I'm too lazy to look it up).
How many Broken Glass and Jaxmike's are out there? More then 30%? |

Re: Will Bush Drop into the 30s?
People are results oriented, so it really depends on where the country is.
I will say, for Bush to have a lower than 35% approval rating, something absolutely catastrophic must happen in the next few years. It's much easier for Bush's approval rating to get higher right now. |

[/ QUOTE ]Well the country is split about 33 Rep/ 33 Dem/ 33 Independent, and independents are usually just closet Republicans or closet Democrats, so I'd estimate the floor of absolute diehards wearing blinders is about 33%. I don't think even Nixon could have dropped below that. |

Right now you only hear one side of the story from the media, so his poll numbers are supressed, but that is only temporary. |

Re: Will Bush Drop into the 30s?
We haven't even considered that a good number of people simply don't pay attention or care about politics. I'm not certain if those people approve or disapprove or if anything in the news interests them beyond whether Brad Pitt is screwing Angelina Jolie and if Michael jackson was diddling little boys.

BGC has a point. Bush went on a speaking campaign to promote his Social Security Plan. You'll remember how that nearly died until he spoke in support of it. And now everyone loves his Soc Sec plan.
