The button had been tight and had just folded his blinds to put himself in this spot. The BB seemed like a solid player.

How long until the blinds move up? Do you think having 1700 chips is not enough FE against UTG, UTG+1? I know what you're thinking here, the question is ...is this more +EV? BTW, if there were fewer players, I think this is an easier fold.

I think even a tight villain will push more than 20% here making it a clear call for hero, even with the BB left to act.

With fewer players do you mean:

1. similar stack ratios amongst the remaining players?
or

2. simply fewer players but Hero's # of BBs is the same?

OK, just checking. He had A8 and I flopped a set to end his misery as humanely as possible.

When the BB hit me again, the SB pushed his 1200, and I called with 97o. They stopped pushing into me after that.
