Default ENOUGH TEARS ALREADY

Hey sportsfans, am I being a harda** or has the free flow of tears by athletes at the end of sporting events gotten a bit much. I call it the Dick Vermeil syndrome(he gets a pass by the way ). Stop sobbing sprawled out in the middle of the court, etc. go shake hands and get back in the dang lockerroom. Games are important and all but not so many years ago they were just as important, you didn't see so many tears. In little league sure, but now everyone's doin' it. Just a rant, anyone else feel similarly or am I an island?

You're an island, I don't see what the big deal is. I can remember plenty of times throughout the years, Boggs in 1986, Thomas Hill in 1991 (and they WON), etc, etc.

You people are overreacting because two people were shown in the same night, yawn.

nolanfan,

No definitely not a big deal I guess just seems those reactions were stifled years back, we are a lot more touchy feely in society, I don't know if I dig it. And those were tears of joy you mentioned, big difference. But anyway...

I'd rather see tears than Dikembe's mug on the floor of the Seattle Center ever again.

Oh, and MEbenhoe, the other thread is sweet sixteen specific (easier to type than say). This one, I feel, isn't.

I agree about shaking hands. Sportsmanship shoudl be more important than crying in the middle of the floor.

That said, if he shook hands after bawling...I'd be okay with it.

As long as I'm betting money on these games, I better see kids crying when they lose!

I'm sure that happened in both cases most likely. I agree with you there.
