Default PP 30/60 - Here\'s a hand that people disagreed with my play...

I believe the villain was something like a 22/11/1.5. Nothing stood out about his play. I hadn't seen him get out of line yet. I'll give my thoughts later. If you're going to respond "OMG! Easy raise, cap, you have tens full!!!", don't bother.

I think I see what your point is. Low AF means that it's unlikely to be an overpair. 77 is the only thing that makes sense. Help?

Given all that action and that you have a good read on him, I guess I scratch my head and call on this one.

I don't have a good read on the villain. I have PT stats, and I know that in the short time I had played with him, I hadn't seen him get out of line.

He's only two off the button. This could very easily be 98. Other possible hands include 66 and T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 22 is remotely possible and I've seen players that were so impressed with their clever preflop management of AA that it never occurs to them that this isn't rockets versus cowboys.

If you've been counting I've named 29 different hands that aren't 77.

It's probably a pretty close decision. Unless I really respected the guy a lot I would try raise-call-nh on the river.

But I'm very boring and solid players usually respect me. Anyone who might even consider 3-betting 98s preflop must raise here. The golden rule of image is you reap what you sow.

One thing to point out is that often enough, when a guy puts in so many bets/raises that you would logically think he must have you beat, it's rather that he's fallen in love with his hand.

I see your point but I think Andy's makes more sene, while you haven't seen anything how many times have you seen him showdown AA or KK? I think I raise-call the river here. There's such a strong chance he's putting you on AT.

Why is a hand like 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] not weighted equally with the displeasing 77?

I am at least some portion of the time, and my stats are pretty damned similar. Really depends on the table.
